A small, hard-working private consulting firm based in Christchurch. Established in 2009, we hit the ground running with our direct approach to assisting organisations with success. HR ALIVE can bring specialisations in Human Resources; incorporating Leadership and Performance Development, Employment Relations, Recruitment Best Practice, Talent & Workforce Management, both Strategic & Operational HR process Implementation and Improvement, Change Management and Redundancy Outplacement.
In addition, we offer services in career advice and CV development for those wanting a change in direction.
Hilary Sinclair-Hyde
Founder and Director

Hilary brings over 25 years in Operational Human Resources. In founding HR ALIVE, Hilary wanted to ensure a firm understanding of what businesses want and need to be successful, with this in mind, Hilary could then work with their employees and encourage their engagement in your business. She has worked with SME’s to be their HR provider and with large corporate organisations offering HR contracted services to assist with an existing HR team.

In addition, Hilary has worked with Government funded organisations and worked closely with unions to develop a positive working relationship to assist mutual outcomes.

Hilary has strengths in understanding the vision, values and strategy of an organisation and then provides HR process to support and feed into the journey of the organisation.  Hilary is able to work at a high level and is able to create and implement strategy with the understanding of how these effects all levels of staff.

 

Outside of work Hilary lives on 10 acres and is a mother of two grown up children.  Hilary also has a horse or four for pleasure riding and low level competing with her daughter.

 

Among Hilary's interests are psychometric testing where behavioural assessments are used for professional development.

"I don't see the value of assessing potential employees with numerical reasoning if your role isn't for an accountant or requires you to use numbers, it is a waste of time and resource." Hilary says.  "Why not look for gaps in your skill base and assess against those behaviours, which is a far more cost effective and valuable way to recruit and develop your existing talent?"
